Our Team

Terry Cagle Executive Director terry@WeCareAbilene.org Terry Cagle grew up in Abilene, the son of Howard and Winnie and the brother of Becky. He has been striving to follow Jesus for most of his life thanks to the vibrant faith he witnessed and experienced at home. The best thing about Terry is his beautiful wife, Becki, whom he met at Abilene Christian University. They have two grown daughters, Courtney Drysdale, married to Jason Drysdale, living in Denver, CO; and Carlee Kumler, married to Joshua Kumler, living in Dallas. Before returning to Abilene to lead CCC, Terry was involved in ministry for 30+ years. He has a BSed in PE and Health, and a MS in Bible from Abilene Christian University. He loves to read, listen to music, play basketball, laugh, watch sports, wonder at God’s grace and goodness, and be thankful. He strives to not take himself too seriously while taking God very seriously. He is excited about working with CCC as it strives to live out its name by connecting caring communities in Abilene. He loves the community coordinators, Aaron and Janet, who are living out the love of God by loving people in the College Heights’ neighborhood and all across town. He wants everyone to come to the table and share life together as we answer Jesus’ prayer for, “the kingdom of God to come on earth as it is in heaven.”

David Adams Community Coordinator david@WeCareAbilene.org David Adams has resided in Abilene since 2006.  He grew up in Kerrville Texas but moved back to Abilene to finish school at Hardin – Simmons University.  David graduated from HSU in December 2015 with his degree in ministry.  He is currently attending Logsdon Seminary and he will graduate with his Master’s degree this December.  To know David is to know that he is all about family.  David has been married to Ashley for 14 years and have two daughters, Abigail and Emma.  Ashley is currently a student at HSU and is pursuing her degree in ministry/psychology.  Their oldest daughter Abigail is 9 and is in the fourth grade.  Abigail loves Tae Kwon Do, soccer, and singing.  Emma is 6 and in the first grade.  She loves soccer, playing with baby dolls and running around with their dog Ginger.   Before joining CCC David worked three years in the church.  He was a youth minister for a year and spent the last two years as head pastor of local congregations.  He loves the church and loved working in the church, but he is exciting about the opportunities that CCC will give him in showing the love of Jesus to his neighbors.   “I love the idea of opening our home to our neighbors and sharing a meal with them.  As one of my professors at HSU says, “Sitting around the table and breaking bread with others is one of the most New Testament things we can do.”  I tend to agree with that.  There is something organic and real about getting to know others.  I believe working here will help me live out the command – Love God, Love Neighbor.”
